Other News
A huge
sink-hole developed on the north side of Daisetta just a few miles north and
east of Liberty Municipal Airport on Wednesday May 7th. The area had a number of
news helicopters from Houston TV stations operating in the area and even using
Liberty on one occasion as the crew waited for further instructions from their
news desk. They ordered Domino's pizza and had it delivered to the airport,
walking the distance from the fuel ramp to the locked gate on the west side to
meet the delivery person. Even in this small instance, the airport served to
bring business to at least one business in the City of Liberty.
